This month has a large mouth
this month throws its voice
A month that shouts back
at all months gone past
This is a month of colours
pink, red, blue
orange, green and purple
A month of mangoes and avacadoes
music, mosquitoes and racy rats
this is a month of the moon
a time of reckoning, roses,
love gained and yes, love lost
remembrance and longing
a month that follows in the heels
of new year compliments
when doubt is cast over fresh
resolutions, a month
when nerves refuse to settle
figures do not add up
This month of sounds, the sounds of crickets
cooing doves, sound of slashers cutting grass
